Bug Report – Al Quran App (Android)
Frequency:
Occasional / hard to reproduce
Affected:
All Android devices used over the past year+
Description:
While reciting with auto-scroll enabled, a single-finger touch on the screen sometimes unexpectedly triggers a zoom change and simultaneously jumps the scroll position back to the beginning of the current Surah. This is disruptive mid-recitation as it causes loss of reading position.
The behavior resembles a misfire of the pinch-to-zoom gesture, but is triggered by one finger rather than two. The scroll-to-top compounds the issue beyond a simple accidental zoom.
Why not reported sooner:
The issue is intermittent and not consistently reproducible on demand, making it difficult to capture or demonstrate.
Latest occurrence:
April 12th, ~8:28 PM PKT
Additional context:
  • Persists across multiple Android device changes over the years
  • Only occurs during auto-scroll mode
  • Single finger touch is the apparent trigger (not a two-finger pinch)
